World on a String Preview Concert – Free!

Join us Sunday, June 15th, at 4 pm, for a free outdoor World on a String concert on Capitol Hill. The cross-cultural concert features master musicians, including GRAMMY®–nominated Progressive Hip-Hop artist Christylez Bacon, GRAMMY®–nominated Swedish fiddle player Andrea Hoag, Hindustani classical violinist Nistha Raj, Afro-Cuban percussionist Felix Contreras, GRAMMY®–nominated Native American cellist, vocalist, and improvisor Dawn Avery, and Tina Chancey, master of bowed strings from medieval viol and rebec to modern fiddle. This not-to-be-missed free concert features the artists both individually and in collaboration.
It will take place at Hill Center at the Old Naval Hospital, 921 Pennsylvania Avenue SE. We’re delighted to be working with the Hill Center on this fall’s World on a String day of workshops and a concert, Saturday, Oct. 25th. Visit the World on a String page for details.
